traditional societies ascribe identity on the basis of ethnic and tribal traditions, modern societies on the basis of the sovereign state and the market economy. The post-modern world will discover that the true basis of our identity is our membership in a species interconnected with all other species - a foundation far more universal than race, gender, ethnicity or anything partial or restricted.  To evolve creatively, humans  need to have a sense of belonging that unites them with all other humans and their natural habitats. This is the deepe sense of spirituality that can inform the search for individuality conducted by the next generation

THERE IS SOMETHING TO BE SAID about black and white art.   Not everything that looks decent in black and white, inked, or shaded GRAPHITE PENCIL is going to look good coloured. AND ART DOES NOT need colour to make it complete. just because it's coloured doesn't make it finished. and just because it isn't doesn't mean it's not.
